Does baptism equal salvation?

HCC_blk-logo-trans-export

Have you ever wondered why people get baptized? There are so many misconceptions about the purpose of baptism. To be clear, getting baptized will not get you into heaven. Like wearing a wedding ring signifies that you’re married, baptism signifies that we trust Jesus is God’s Son and there is nothing we can do to earn salvation apart from Him.

Just as baptism proclaims God’s grace in our lives, there is also an aspect of obedience tied to it. In Acts 22:16, Jesus says, “What are you waiting for? Get up and be baptized. Have your sins washed away by calling on the name of the Lord.”

If you have a relationship with Christ but have never been baptized, we’re here to reiterate what Jesus asked … What are you waiting for? Receive details and sign up online.

Earlier this month, many of you answered this calling to baptism and proclaimed what you believe at the Raleigh Campus. We pray that God uses each one of you to make an impact on His kingdom … at Hope, within the Triangle and throughout the world.

“True Pain, True Grief and a True God”

True Pain, True Grief and a True God

Friday night, August 12, all are invited to hear Dylan Dodson, author of True Pain, True Grief and a True God speak at Hope’s “Journey” Ministry night.

Dylan Dodson is an incredible young man with an amazing story to tell of how God has journeyed with his family through the valley of pain, suffering and grief that accompanied the loss of his father. Dylan writes in his recent book that “your painful experience allows you to witness a side of the Lord that not everyone will get to see in this lifetime.” This is a rare opportunity to come and hear firsthand how God has used even a tragic situation to bring an overwhelming assurance of His great love and compassion.

The event will kick off with refreshments and social time at 7pm in the Gathering Place, followed by a time of worship in the auditorium around 7:45pm and Dylan speaking shortly after 8:00pm. Whether you are single or not, Hope’s Single Adults Ministry welcomes everyone to attend the entire or any one portion of the night.
